Authentic Yoga Studio Teachers

Amanda Mendez Owner of Authentic Yoga Studio

Founder – Amanda Mendez

I was born and raised right here in Boise, ID. I honestly had no idea what yoga was or what I was getting myself into when I wandered my way into a hot yoga class to “get in shape”. It was exactly what I needed physically but most importantly I received so much more than just a physical transformation. I found my practice when I needed it the most. I was caring for my mom with terminal cancer and dealing with my own personal home life. It allowed me an escape out of the “mandatory reality” outside the studio doors…which we call “my wreck of a life”.  Yoga was a love hate thing for me at first, it was hard, challenging, some days really hard to go, but I kept coming back.  My practice evolved and lead me to teaching, and my teaching has evolved from a random dialogued script to opening my own studios & leading retreats around the world,  being able to share my practice and teaching at a much deeper level.  I’ve been grateful for the many teaching hours, students, and experiences both yoga and life that continue to help me be a better teacher and truly lean into being authentically myself.

Leah VanBlaricom Authentic Yoga Studio Instructor

Leah VanBlaricom

Born and raised in Boise, ID, I found myself in my first yoga class my junior year of high school. Towards the end of my senior year, I started to become a more regular practitioner. With hopes of changing the way my body looked, I kept coming back because of the effects it had on my mind. As graduation approached college didn’t feel right at the time; so I received my 200-RYT certificate.

As I transition into adulthood this practice has become my space. Space to breathe, to check in, and to feel everything on and off the mat. I feel so fortunate to find this practice so early in my life I feel responsible to share it everywhere I can. I enjoy working with modifications and showing people they are capable conquering what you think you can’t.

Tracy Greenway Authentic Yoga Studio Instructor

Tracy Greenway

My first step toward yoga was a mental one. I began meditating and this played a role in a mental shift and realization of the mind/body connection. I began attending yoga classes in 2006 but it was a class in 2010 at a power yoga studio in Buffalo, NY that truly ignited my love and passion for yoga. I was immediately drawn to the practice and style and found myself attending classes 5-6 times a week. It began challenging and changing me mentally and physically. In 2012 I moved to the mountains of Idaho with my husband and daughter. I had a strong desire to teach and bring that which made such a difference in my life to others. I began teaching in 2015. My classes are taught with passion and joy. I hope for each person I meet to tap into their fearless light that wants to burst out. To find peace and joy, strength and lightness and self-love. To honor the mind/body connection.

Sean McGraw

Welcome, My name is Sean and I am happy to be here and share a little about myself. I am a teacher at Authentic Yoga and I’ve been teaching for a little over a Year now. I was born in California, in the Bay Area, and was adopted at birth. Raised here In Idaho, Treasure Valley area mainly. After High School I went on quite the adventures and moved around a lot and had a variety of jobs and skills. Life was crazy in my late teens and through my Twenties lots of ups and lots of downs, really dealing with a lot of pain and hurt that I held in as a child and into my adult life, never dealing with it and always shoving it down deep, as a lot of us do. I would use drugs, alcohol, relationships and other material things, to ease the pain.
In the midst of all of this I found yoga when I was in my mid Twenties. At the time I was training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing, training for competitions and eventually entering the cage a couple times, I found yoga to be a good cross training, but nothing more than that.
Moving back to the Treasure Valley I still struggled with the pains I hadn’t dealt with yet. Finding yoga here at Authentic Yoga Studio with Amanda Mendez, where I took my 200 HR YTT (That’s a whole story in itself.) Yoga has been such a huge blessing in my life and really has helped me evolve and start to find myself. It has helped me return to self and discover so much about myself, not only physically but more so on the mental and spiritual realms. I fall more in love with all aspects of yoga, the more I step on the mat or sit for meditation or do breathwork, and how it all interconnects. Yoga has really allowed me to find power within and take responsibility for my life and who I want to be as a Human and a Man. I am a student always and a teacher second, always willing to learn from whoever, and I always want my students to feel safe and to have a good time and leave with a smile. I am excited to get to know you all more and more in the studio and out, and excited to be a part of all of your Yoga Journeys! Amanda is the best, and has given me this opportunity and am excited to continue to grow with the community. I can’t wait to meet you all and share space and energy and move and breathe with you. See you soon on your mat. Love and Light to you all, Namaste!
